We work together with leading steel producers to reduce emissions right from the raw material chain. Together, we rely on innovative technologies that significantly reduce CO₂ intensity and thus lay the foundation for climate-friendly steel production.

Closed-loop agreements for scrap purchasing & recycling
Closed material cycles keep steel in circulation for the long term. We have reached agreements with our partners that enable scrap to be fed back into the production process - a real lever for reducing emissions.

In-house rail connection
With our own rail connection, we ensure that raw materials and finished products can be transported quickly, reliably and, above all, in a climate-friendly way. Rail is significantly lower in emissions than road transport - so we also reduce CO₂ and relieve the burden on the road infrastructure at the same time.

We are investing in the development of our own hydrogen production. With a 3-megawatt plant and renewable energy from photovoltaics, we are creating the basis for replacing fossil fuels with green hydrogen.

Our plants have been using exclusively green electricity since 2022. This will significantly reduce our direct CO₂ footprint and send a clear signal for the energy transition.

Offsetting unavoidable emissions via Verified Carbon Units
We offset unavoidable residual emissions through high-quality climate protection projects. These include Verified Carbon Units from a REDD project in the Brazilian Amazon, which promotes the conservation of biodiversity as well as CO₂ storage.

CO₂ neutral since 2019

At BROCKHAUS, we prioritize transparency: each delivery is individually assessed and calculated based on current data. This allows us to show our customers exactly how many CO₂ emissions were generated during production. We fully offset all emissions generated during the production of your order at our facilities. This means your order is produced CO₂-neutral. But we go one step further: additional emissions are generated in upstream hot-rolled strip production. To achieve a fully CO₂-neutral steel product, we offer a collaborative solution. Together, we will find the right way to offset these emissions and maintain our consistent focus on sustainability.
